International Planetary Data Alliance (IPDA), founded in 2006, is a close co-operation partnership to maintain the quality and performance for planetary research with instruments in space. Specific task include IPDA and universal access for the international exchange of scientific data of high quality, organized by a set of standards to facilitate data management. Standard NASA Planetary Data System IPDA ar the de facto standard for archiving planetary data. Member organizations participate in both the Board and on specific projects related to building standards and interoperable systems.
In 2008, Committee for Space Research (COSPAR) Resolution IPDA considered an official body to set standards around the world looking for archives.
